Normal Hours for Browsing and Computer Use

We are open our regularly scheduled hours for in-person browsing and computer use. If you prefer not to come inside, we are also open for curbside pickup so you can get your books, materials, or copies/faxes remotely. We also have grab-and-go crafts for kids. Please call the library at 287-0191 or email if you need any help at all selecting material, putting things on hold, need recommendations, or need print/fax services.

LEGOS at the Library for children ages 5-12. Join us for some LEGO fun on August 23rd from 3:30pm to 5:30pm.

Tails & Tales Summer Reading Program

Tails & Tales Summer Reading Program will run July 5th-July 31st There will be a grand prize for each category! Pre-K Children, ages 1-4; Children, ages 5-12; Teen, ages 13-17; Adult, ages 18+. Drawing will be held on August 4th! Each Pre-K Children and Children participant will receive a t-shirt and there are additional prizes for everyone. Stop in and see us to sign up. Have fun reading!

Emergency Broadband Benefit Program

The Federal Communications is asking for help to spread the word about the Emergency Broadband Benefit. This temporary program helps families struggling to afford Internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Having a broadband connection is essential for households gain access to jobs, healthcare services, virtual classrooms, and so much more. Upstate University Hospital Mobile Mammography Van will be at Gouverneur Library August 20th,2021

The mobile mammography van will be at the library from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on August 20th.

Pre-registration is required. Sign up for a mammogram by calling 315-464-2582 or online: (link is external)

Women 40 years and older are eligible to use the van if they have not had a mammogram in the past year or they show no signs or symptoms of breast cancer. 

Insured and uninsured women are welcome!

GO FISH! Fishing Rod Lending Program

You can use your library card to borrow adult and child fishing rods along with tackle boxes for up to one week.

If you have never been fishing before, we have instructions on casting as well as information on local fishing spots. Everyone over the age of 16 must possess a valid NYS Freshwater Fishing License to borrow. Licenses are available at most sporting goods stores, town clerks offices, DEC offices, and over the phone or online by visiting
