The Reading Room Association of Gouverneur will be closed starting Monday March 16th until further notice, due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The Board of Trustees of the Reading Room Association of Gouverneur is closing following recommendations of the New York Library Association and to minimize the opportunity for staff and community members to be exposed to the virus.
Coronavirus Closure Plan approved by the Board of Trustees on March 15th. That plan indicated that the library would close once the School District of Gouverneur closed.
This plan calls for:
- Phone messages and emails to be monitored by library staff throughout the week
- eBooks eAudiobooks, and eMagazines, – can be downloaded from the website and corresponding apps (Libby, OverDrive, Flipster) for free
- Patron Use of Databases from home
- No late fines for materials — patrons can keep the items they have borrowed and will not incur any late fines during the closure
